Mr. Kiprono Kittony
Mr. Kittony holds a Global Executive MBA, Bachelor of Commerce Business Administration and a degree in Law. He has experience in public life as an implementer and has exposure in international relations. He is the founder Chairman of Radio Africa Limited, CEO of Capital Realtime Limited, chairman of Media Owners Association, My Jobs in Kenya, AAR Health Insurance Limited, Mtech Limited and the National Chairman of the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KNCCI). A board of Member of Media Council of Kenya, Kenya Private Sctor Alliance (KEPSA), Betting Control and Licensing board, AAR Holdings limited, and Danida’s Business Advocacy Fund. An Advocate of the High Court of Kenya. Mr. Kittony represents Kenya Chamber of Commerce and Industry at the EACCIA Board.
Maarten Otto Coppoolse
Holds a master’s degree in industrial psychology. Max has worked at Unilever for 11 years and was responsible for the implementation of the restructuring for the Unilever meat/ soup and tinned food group in the Netherlands. Max gained experience in reorganizing companies in Africa by being part of an international team which reorganized United Africa Company (UAC) based in Nigeria. Max joined KPN (Netherlands) in 1990 as General Manager Business and Mobile Communication. He later joined Phillips from 1993 to 1998 in various functions ranging from CEO of Phillips Malaysia to General Manager of two media subsidiaries of Phillips. In 2000, Max joined Vodafone as a Director Special Projects. In 2003, he became COO of PharmAccess Foundation. In this function, Max gained extensive experience in the health sector in Africa. In May 2008 he was appointed as Managing Director of IFHA.
Completed the Chartered accountant Study at NIVRA (Netherlands Institute of Chartered accountants) in 1986. With over 25 years of experience as a financial and operations executive, Pieter has knowledge of finance, acquisitions, divestments, IT and management. Prior to joining IFHA, Pieter has been an entrepreneur for the past 8 years owning an IT & Telecommunication company. More recently he served as a CFO of a large Dutch ICT & Telecom Group and CEO of a software development company. Prior to this he served as a Partner of the Consulting Service Practice of Cap & Young Consulting. Previously, he served as a Finance Director for Lanier Europe, a Ricoh Company and Senior Manager of international audit practice of Ernst & Whinney and Moret Ernst & Young. In November 2009 he was appointed CFO of IFHA.
Jeroen Van Breda Vriesman
After studying Law at the University of Utrecht, Jeroen started his career at the ING Group. In 2004, he joined Achmea as chairman of the Occupation Health Division. From 2006 until September 2008, he was Chairman of AchmeaZorg (Health) Division. As of October 2008, he became a member of the Executive Board of Eureko. His core responsibilities include Strategy, M&A, innovation, Life and pensions and Group Information Management and Technology. Mr. Van Breda Vriesman became a Supervisory Director of the African Research & Resource Forum, Kenya as of 2011. Since 2011 he is member of the Supervisory board of TIAS (Business School of Tilburg University) and since 2011 he is a member of the Supervisory Board of the Eye Hospital in Rotterdam.
Mr. Geoffrey Nzau
Group Chief Executive officer – AAR Insurance Holdings
Mr. Geoffrey Nzau is the Group Chief Executive Officer of AAR Insurance Holdings.
Mr. Nzau is charged with overall leadership of the AAR Insurance Holdings Limited which has operations in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Zambia .
Mr. Nzau comes in with vast experience gained mainly from the very mature SA Insurance market, as well as the financial and Actuarial industry. He attained a first class BSc in Actuarial Science and has worked in several international companies as an actuary. In 1992 he qualified as a Fellow of Institute of Actuaries (FIA) making him the first East African to qualify as an actuary. He is also a fellow of the Actuarial Society of South Africa (FASSA), and a member of Actuarial Society of Kenya.
Catherine Ngahu is the Founder and Managing Director of Strategic Business Options Limited. She previously served as the Chairperson, Kenya ICT Board and a Senior Lecturer at the University of Nairobi. She has been a board member of several companies including Kenya Women’s Finance Trust.
Catherine holds a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) in Marketing Management from the University of Nairobi and is a former Business Research Fellow at the Wharton Business School, University of Pennsylvania.
Ms. Caroline Munene
Ms. Munene is the Managing Director of AAR Insurance Kenya Limited. Since her appointment in March 2012, Caroline is responsible for managing all operations of the Insurance Company to ensure technical capacity and efficiency that will steer the company to a leading position in the insurance industry. With more than 20 years in the insurance industry, Caroline has broad knowledge and ability to steer the Company to world class standards. Ms. Munene is also the Deputy Director and Associate Member of the Insurance Institute of Kenya (IIK). She is also an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII) London. Before joining AAR, she was the General Manager (General Business) in Madison Insurance Company. Caroline holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Insurance) and an MBA in Marketing.
