1. BUSINESS PROCESSING OFFICER

Overall Purpose of the Job

Reporting to the Supervisor – Business Processing, the Business Processing Officer will play a critical role in administration of membership based on the defined medical benefits and underwriting rules. The position performs business updates and membership management in the system for customers to guarantee high levels of satisfaction for the insured and intermediaries through excellent client service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Vetting of risks by reviewing application forms and other underwriting documents for completeness as per the underwriting guidelines.
  • Verification of premium before update of members in the system.
  • Accurate and timely placement and renewal of cover in the system for the appropriate benefits as purchased by the customer.
  • Accurate capture of all underwriting and customer information in the system as set out in the underwriting guidelines.
  • Accurate and timely issuance of policy documents for covered members.
  • Processing policy documents and endorsements, debits notes and credit notes within the agreed turnaround times.
  • Following up of incomplete business.
  • Creation of an underwriting file for each policyholder and filing all incoming and outgoing correspondences.
  • Attending to enquiries from direct Clients, Brokers and Agents.
  • Support marketing team in products development and business acquisition.
  • Ensure compliance with the Company’s credit policy for all businesses before update.
  • Advice the Underwriting manager of any anomaly detected during member registration and suggest areas of improvement.
  • Preparation of statistical monthly/ quarterly performance reports as directed.
  • Performing any other duties as required.

Education, Experience & Competencies

  • Graduate with a business degree or related field.
  • Progress Insurance professional qualification such as CII or IIK will be an added advantage.
  • Good understanding of insurance management systems and data entry.
  • Strong understanding of the concepts of General Insurance.
  • Advanced Excel skills and knowledge of statistical tools for reporting.
  • At least 1 year of experience in an underwriting or insurance administration role.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite.
  • Good analytical, communication and report writing skills
2. BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER – SME BUSINESS

Overall Purpose of the Job

Reporting to the Group Head of Distribution, the Business Development Manager (SME) is responsible for positioning AAR Insurance as the leading provider ofSME Health Insurance solutions in the market. The role drives sustainable and profitable growth by expanding AAR’s SME health portfolio, strengthening relationships with intermediaries and SME ecosystems, and embedding holistic insurance solutions tailored to SMEs’ evolving needs. The BDM will also champion alternative distribution channels, product innovation, and cross-business collaboration to ensure AAR’s SME offerings remain competitive, customer-centric and top of mind in the market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement SME Health Insurance strategies to achieve revenue, profitability, and retention targets.
  • Continuously identify and pursue new SME market opportunities, industry clusters, and regional growth areas.
  • Position AAR as the most competitive and preferred provider of SME Health Insurance, ensuring sustainable and profitable growth.
  • Build and strengthen partnerships with intermediaries (brokers, agents, bancassurance) as primary distribution partners.
  • Collaborate with SME aggregators, industry associations, and support ecosystems (e.g., chambers of commerce, incubators, fintechs, HR networks).
  • Drive business growth through alternative channels, including digital marketplaces, online aggregators, affinity groups, and professional associations.
  • Equip all partners with the necessary training, engagement, and tools to maximize SME health insurance uptake.
  • Collaborate with product development teams to refine & customize SME Health Products, and also embed seamlessly into SME ecosystems (e.g., HR processes, employee benefit programs).
  • Expand embedded offerings to include complementary solutions such as wellness programs, general insurance add-ons, and financial wellbeing services where relevant.
  • Refine SME health products to ensure they are fit-for-purpose, affordable, scalable, and responsive to the budget realities of SMEs.
  • Collaborate with other business lines (Corporate, General, Retail) to design integrated solutions that capture synergies and avoid cannibalization.
  • Benchmark SME solutions against competitors to ensure AAR remains a leader in innovation and value.
  • Partner with brand and marketing teams to design and deliver SME-focused campaigns that drive awareness, uptake, and retention.
  • Position AAR as a trusted SME partner by showcasing sector-specific case studies and success stories.
  • Represent AAR at SME forums, business associations, and events to reinforce market leadership in SME Health Insurance.
  • Champion digitization of SME acquisition, onboarding, and servicing to improve efficiency and client experience.
  • Drive adoption of digital sales platforms and self-service tools by intermediaries and SME clients.
  • Explore innovative partnerships with fintechs, HR-tech platforms, and lifestyle ecosystems to create new digital distribution pathways.
  • Ensure SME initiatives comply with regulatory standards and AAR’s Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) framework.
  • Facilitate seamless onboarding and ensure superior customer experiences to build loyalty and renewals.
  • Establish continuous feedback loops with SME clients and intermediaries to refine products, campaigns and service models.
  • Track and report SME Health Insurance performance, profitability and market insights.
  • Provide actionable recommendations to senior management on opportunities, risks and trends.
  • Ensure ROI on SME-focused campaigns, partnerships and product innovations.

Education, Experience & Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Actuarial Science or related field.
  • Professional insurance qualification (Diploma in Insurance, ACII, or equivalent).
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in sales/business development of health insurance (SME or corporate focus).
  • Proven success in growing SME or corporate portfolios through intermediaries, aggregators and alternative distribution partners.
  • Strong knowledge of SME health solutions and employee benefit models.
  • Ability to position AAR as a market leader while ensuring sustainable profitability.
  • Skilled at engaging intermediaries, aggregators, and alternative channels.
  • Focused on embedding SME needs into health and additional solutions.
  • Effective cross-functional engagement with Corporate, General, Retail, and Marketing teams.

3. BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER – RETAIL

Overall Purpose of the Job

Reporting to the Group Head of Distribution, the Business Development Manager (Retail) is responsible for driving sustainable / profitable growth of AAR’s retail insurance business, with a focus on family and individual health products. The role will deliver revenue growth by strengthening relationships with intermediaries, expanding distribution through emerging and digital channels and ensuring products remain competitive, customer-centric and compliant with regulatory and service excellence standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement retail business strategies to achieve set revenue, growth, and profitability targets.
  • Drive business through intermediaries (brokers, agents, bancassurance partners) and alternative channels.
  • Continuously identify, assess and capture new markets and customer segments for AAR’s retail products.
  • Monitor and manage performance across channels, ensuring proactive interventions to close gaps.
  • Build and sustain strong relationships with intermediaries and distribution partners to maximize productivity and business inflows.
  • Partner with branches, bancassurance, digital platforms and alternative distribution channels to enhance penetration.
  • Provide regular engagement, training, and motivation to intermediaries and partners to drive loyalty and revenue growth.
  • Work closely with product development teams to review and enhance retail insurance products, ensuring market competitiveness and alignment with evolving customer needs.
  • Collaborate with brand and marketing teams to design, roll out, and track targeted campaigns that increase awareness, uptake and engagement of retail products.
  • Benchmark products against competitors to ensure AAR delivers superior and innovative value propositions.
  • Support the creation of bundled or segmented solutions to meet the needs of emerging customer groups (youth and emerging demographics, digital natives, wellness-focused families).
  • Champion digitization of the retail sales process, including self-service portals, quotation engines and mobile distribution solutions.
  • Drive adoption of digital sales tools by intermediaries, branches and internal teams to improve efficiency and customer experience.
  • Explore partnerships with fintechs, aggregators and lifestyle platforms to open new revenue streams.
  • Ensure retail business development initiatives adhere to AAR’s Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) framework and regulatory requirements.
  • Work closely with service and operations teams to ensure turnaround times (TATs), service quality and customer satisfaction metrics are consistently met or exceeded.
  • Integrate customer and partner feedback loops into ongoing improvements of products, campaigns and processes
  • Track, analyze and report on sales performance, product profitability and market developments.
  • Provide insights and strategic recommendations to senior management on growth opportunities, risks and emerging trends.
  • Ensure positive ROI on business development initiatives, campaigns and channel investments.

Education, Experience & Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Actuarial Science, or related field.
  • Diploma in Insurance, ACII or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in sales and business development of retail insurance products.
  • Demonstrated success in managing intermediary networks and leveraging digital distribution channels.
  • Ability to translate strategy into actionable plans.
  • Strong relationship-building with intermediaries, partners and customers.
  • Familiarity with digital distribution, automation and emerging channels.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing market and customer needs.
