Enjoy the following benefits under your cover:
- Death benefit paid as eight years’ earnings.
- Permanent total disability, meaning the loss of one or more limbs or eyes, or permanent disablement. The extent of disability is determined by the labour officer after filling in the DOSH (Department of Occupational Safety & Health) FORM. The benefit is paid as eight years’ earnings.
- Accidental temporary total disablement. This applies to the inability to work in one’s usual work capacity. Inability to take part in sports or other pastimes isn’t considered in this context.
- Weekly benefits are provided for up to 104 weeks for ‘partial’ disablement; the inability to perform a significant portion of one’s usual occupation.
- Accidental medical expenses, unlike other benefits, are covered on an indemnity basis. This means that reimbursement is on actual expenses incurred, up to a limit of Kshs 100,000.
The Following are the Cover Limits
- Kshs 5,000,000 per person.
- Kshs 25,000,000 per event.
- Kshs 50,000,000 per year.
The Following Exclusions will Apply
The following are not covered in your insurance plan:
- Any accidental death or injury occurring outside of the employee’s normal working hours.
- Any liability the insured takes on through signing an agreement, but which would not have existed in the absence of such agreement.
- Any injury by accident or disease sustained by an employee outside the geographical area of their contract of service, i.e., not made in or subject to the laws of Kenya.
- Any injury by accident or disease sustained by any employee who is below the age of 18 years.
- Any injury caused or contributed to directly or indirectly by deliberate and willful misconduct of the employee.
- Any liability arising from court proceedings.
- Any liability arising from pre-existing medical conditions unless they had been declared.
- Any sum of money which the insured is entitled to recover from any party but cannot due to a prior agreement between the insured and the said party.
- Any business or occupation not listed in the policy, until relevant documentation has been supplied to the Insurer, accepted and added to the policy.
